Over a period of ten days, you’ll have time to get beneath the surface of this beautiful and welcoming country with this, our most comprehensive tour of Georgia. Among the places we’ll explore are the capital Tbilisi, the wine growing region of Kakheti, the stunning mountain landscapes of the Kazbegi region, Stalin’s birthplace Gori and many of Georgia’s UNESCO listed cathedrals, fortresses and churches.

Day 1. Tbilisi
Arrival in Tbilisi and check in to the hotel.
Day 2. Tbilisi
After breakfast we’ll take a city tour to see Tbilisi’s main sights. Tbilisi City Tour. Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia. It was founded in the 5th century by Vakhtang Gorgasali, the Georgian King of Kartli (Iberia), and made into a capital in the 6th century. Located strategically at the crossroads between Europe and Asia and lying along the historic Silk Road routes, Tbilisi has often been a point of contention between various rival powers and empires. We will visit: National Museum Of Georgia, see main avenue Rustaveli, it’s architecture and Freedom Square. Metekhi church (XIIIc); Abanot-ubani (natural sulphur springs, bath; Narikala Fortress, Sioni Church (VII c) and Anchiskhati Church (VI c). Dinner with folk program. Overnight.
Day 3. Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Kazbegi – Gudauri
Breackfast. This morning we drive to Mtskheta, the ancient capital and religious centre visiting Jvari Church and Svetickhoveli Cathedral. We will have a trip across Georgian Military Highway in the South Caucasus. It is one of the most spectacular roads in this region. It passes the spectacular Ananuri fortress, then climbs the sides of the dramatic Aragvi River Valley. Via the ski resort of Gudauri, we then drive to Kazbegi to reach the 14th century Gergeti Trinity Church before returning to Gudauri.
Day 4. Gudauri – Gori – Uplistikhe – Gelati – Kutaisi
Today’s first destination is the birthplace of Stalin, then we take a tour of Uplistikhe Cave Town - the unique monument of Georgian culture. It is situated on a rocky massif in 15 km eastwards to the town Gori on the left bank of the river Mtkvari (Kura). The monument attracts our attention from afar with its whimsical image, giving rise to various legends. and drive to Kutaisi to visit the 12th century Gelati Monastery and Academy Complex. Overnight in Kutaisi.
Day 5. Kutaisi – Bagrati – Prometheus Cave – Tbilisi
In the morning we visit Bagrati Cathedral which dates from the 11th century. Close by, we visit Prometheus Cavewith a plethora of stalactites and stalagmites. Afterwards we drive back to Tbilisi. There, we’ll enjoy a sumptuous Gala Dinner in a traditional restaurant accompanied by folk dancing and/or singing. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 6. Tbilisi - Davit Gareja – Bodbe – Signagi
Today we make for the wine growing region of Kakheti. On the way, we’ll stop at the Davit Gareja Cave Monastery in the semi desert of the Kakheti region. A highlight today will be the town of Sighnaghi, one of the most picturesque cities in Georgia, surrounded by a long wall punctuated by 28 towers. We visit the Bodbe Monastery with the grave of St Nino. Overnight in Signagi.
Day 7. Signagi – Gremi – Napareuli – Alaverdi – Tbilisi
We remain in the Kakheti wine growing region today to explore the Alaverdi Monastery and Gremi Complex. We move on to enjoy a wine tasting in Napareuli before returning to Tbilisi. Overnight in Tbilisi
Day 8. Tbilisi – Borjomi – Akahltsikhe – Rabati
Breakfast. Check-out. Departure to Akhaltsikhe but first we are going to visit the town of Borjomi – the most popular resort which Is famous for it’s mineral waters. We are going to take a walk on the alleys of the Borjomi Park, also our tourists will have a chance to taste real Borjomi right from the spring. This water has an amazing ability to cure lots of diseases including: digesting tract and renal diseases, also it helps with the metabolism problems and cholecystitis .
Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park is the oldest and the largest of the protected areas in Georgia. This unique nature preserve, located in central Georgia on the right bank of the river Mtkvari, encompasses 76,000 ha of land and stretches across parts of the Tori, Imereti and Samtskhe regions. With its exceptional location and climate, the park is famous for its diverse forests, flora and fauna. And Borjomi mineral water with its curing qualities is known in the world as the Queen of mineral waters. Wisit in the Fortress Rabat. Return to Akhaltsikhe. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 9. Akahltsikhe – Vardzia – Tbilisi
For our final day’s sightseeing, we drive to Vardzia, a magnificent cave town from Georgia’s Golden Age. On the way to Vardzia stop at the Khertvisi Fortress - a medieval fortress on the border of Samtskhe and Javakheti, it stands on the strategically important venue, at the confluence of rivers Paravani and Mtkvari, on the high rocky mountain. Visit in The cave city of Vardzia (1156-1203) in Javakheti, is a cultural symbol with a special place in the hearts of Georgians. Return to Tbilisi.
Day 10. Tbilisi
Transfer to the airport.
